This Design has been made on a Special Demand by a customer for her son's Toy Room. The design was supplied by the customer in the form of a paper cutting from a magazine, with a preference of Bright Red colour for the background.
The design was a difficult one as it had lots of curves and curls making it difficult to weave as the shape was very unconventional for a carpet. However, it was done by a weaver from the Weaving Academy run by Mala Handicrafts in India very efficiently.
The weaver who wove this Special carpet is rehabilitated and given employment after passing out of Project Mala School in India. The name of the weaver is Sunil Kumar and he is 18 years old.
The carpet consists of around 65,000 knots of New Zealand wool which were tied together in 20 days.
