Almas
is a Hindi word meaning "complicated". This name could have
been chosen by the weavers as there is a high degree of skill needed
to weave this delicate fine pattern. With curving links between flowers
this pattern demands a high knot count to provide the definition.
The design is very similar to a number of classic Indo Persian designs
and is woven in multi-coloured hand spun Indian wool. |
