Bihra is a village in eastern Uttar Pradesh. The carpet depicts the village life with the community going about its work on the farms. It seems that there has been some use of artistic licence in the type of dwelling as most of the village houses are made of mud, although fronting the GT road are brick structures. The carpet is woven in our 30:30 quality using Indian hand spun wool with short kelim and fringes.

As a guide to the price of this carpet:
a runner 245cm in length by 75cm in width (8 ft by 2 ft 6 inches) would cost £250 - see our stock lists pages for our discounted stock
(note that sizes are approximate)
