Indian carpet design 'Fanus'

created by Mala Handicrafts and sold by Mala Carpets

The design name is derived form an Urdu word which means shrubs. The motifs in the design depict these. It is an open field Mughal period design. The colours used are not too many. The rug consists of 40,000 knots per square metre and denotes our quality 40:40. The pile is made of Indian multi-coloured hand spun wool and the rug has been given a slight antique wash.
